Governance Model

Advisory Board

SRI is guided by an independent Advisory Board composed of researchers, librarians, publishers, and technical experts from leading institutions around the world. The board meets quarterly to review strategy, metadata standards, and governance policies.

Open Governance

We operate under an open governance model where major decisions — including metadata schema changes, API policies, and pricing — are made through public consultation. All governance meeting notes and proposals are published openly for community review.

Built in the open, for the collective advancement of research

SRI is committed to open-source development. Our core infrastructure, resolution resolvers, and schemas are published under permissive licenses. We believe that research standards should be fully transparent and community-audited. Anyone is welcome to contribute, test, or host local resolution node mirrors.
